My 2 sons had lessons in the old pools. The adults had to sit on the wet, narrow poolside - and usually on the floor! Yuck

Came to the pool as a kid. Nearly drowned as a child, learnt to swim under water as an adult - loved looking at the glass roof whilst back stroking. Will now be enjoying the exercising now it is open.

I remember my children doing their year 5/6 swimming in the "training pool" and having swimming lessons in the main pool - while I sat on the wooden bench watching.

I Learnt to swim at the old FH Pools, as we came here from Eliot Bank and Sydenham School. I mainly remember the damp cubicles around the pool, and struggling to get back into my damp school uniform tights before rushing back to school.

I learned to swim here as a Kelvin Grove pupil 27 years ago! Remember the old pool v. fondly despite its delapidation, the peeling and graffitied galleried changing cubicles, the porcelain tiles, the cholriney fug under the victorian skylight, and even the cockroaches! Me and my sister would cycle across Baxter Fields on our 1st bikes for a swim on Saturdays and spend 10p aon sweets over the road after. Happy memories and a great new pool for my kids' memories!

Lovely to see clean pools here at Forest Hill. I used to swim in the old pools and the ceiling was peeling and falling into the pool. Great for the community.

I've lived in Forest Hill for 50 years. I went to primary and secondary school in this area - Dalmain and Sydenham Girls. I learnt to swim in Forest Hill Pools, was saddened when it closed; campaigned for it to re-open and am DELIGHTED I can return to such a lovely refurb community area!

My daughter and I have been waitingfor years for it to re-open. We are both keen swimmers and live across the road! So very convenient for us.

I remember the awkwardness of changingin the cubicles around the pool - a feeling of old fashioned dreariness. How things have changed - FOR THE BETTER. Well done and hooray to the pools reopening.
